(Baltimore, MD – March 6, 2025) – SecurethevoteMD is proud to announce a major victory for election transparency in Maryland. In a significant ruling by the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the court confirmed the public’s right to access critical tools for holding election administrators accountable.

In January 2024, SecurethevoteMD leaders Kate Sullivan and David Morsberger, represented by Restoring Integrity and Trust in Elections (“RITE”), sued the Maryland State Board of Elections (SBE). The lawsuit challenged an SBE regulation that blocked efforts to investigate whether Maryland was properly removing non-residents, deceased individuals, and duplicate registrations from voter rolls. RITE argued that the regulation violated the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), which requires states to provide public access to records showing they maintain accurate voter registration rolls.

“This victory is a win not only for SecurethevoteMD but for everyone who advocates for fair, transparent, and secure elections,” said Kate Sullivan, Director of SecurethevoteMD. “Today’s ruling reinforces the fundamental right of the public to access key election records and ensures that Maryland will be held accountable for maintaining accurate voter rolls. This is a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to ensure the validity of our elections.”

SecurethevoteMD sees this victory as a direct reflection of its mission to secure, fair, and transparent elections. The ruling ensures that citizens, both in Maryland and nationwide, will have the necessary tools to evaluate whether their states are removing deceased voters, non-residents, and other ineligible individuals from voter rolls.

About SecureTheVoteMD

Our Secure the Vote team includes citizen volunteers working locally with Maryland Election Integrity LLC and nationally with United Sovereign Americans to ensure valid, accurate, and trustworthy voter rolls. Team members vary from data and legal experts to at-home moms and retired citizens.

We work with the local board of elections to assist in their oversight of the voter rolls. Accurate voter rolls are required under the law for the voters to trust the election system. When we identify critical system irregularities, lack of controls, and voter data errors, the board of elections, by law, must remedy the concerns of the citizens.

Our national association with United Sovereign Americans standardizes the process to ensure legally-valid elections using a comprehensive and easy to understand framework that shows the American voting system is broken. Through an education and litigation strategy the national goal is to fix the election system for all Americans.
