Maryland Must Comply — $3.4M in Federal Funds at Stake

SecurethevoteMD is committed to ensuring that the Maryland State Board of Elections (SBE) fully complies with this Executive Order. Noncompliance could put $3,410,321 in federal election funding at risk.

Despite this, SBE Administrator Jared DeMarinis criticized the order for not addressing “misinformation” and “voter intimidation”—yet no public evidence has been presented to substantiate these claims. If such threats exist, Maryland voters deserve concrete data and a transparent report. Otherwise, the SBE’s claims risk misleading the public. Read the full article here.

Double Standards at the SBE

The SBE previously embraced President Biden’s Executive Order 14091, expanding mail-in voting and drop boxes, despite concerns over ballot chain-of-custody. But now, it claims President Trump’s Executive Order doesn’t apply because it’s not “law.”

Why the selective compliance? It’s time for the SBE to stop cherry-picking executive authority and start upholding election integrity with consistency.

Key Provisions of Executive Order 14248

Strengthens Election Integrity

  • Requires documentary proof of U.S. citizenship for voter registration.
  • Grants states access to federal databases (DHS, SSA, State Dept.) for verification.
  • Directs the Attorney General to prosecute non-citizen voting and election fraud.
  • Links federal election funding to state compliance.
  • Updates ballot standards to require voter-verifiable paper trails.

Holding States Accountable

  • States must maintain accurate voter rolls under federal law.
  • Non-compliant states face enforcement actions and loss of funding.
  • Reinforces federal law: ballots must be received by Election Day.

SecurethevoteMD is committed to holding the Maryland State Board of Elections accountable for complying with Executive Order 14248, “Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections.”
